just wondering if anyone could shed some light on the rumours that Brennan was training with the midfield group at Brisbane, and could be pushed into the middle more this year??

he's pretty durable, he has to the potential to post big numbers from limited possessions, and with Charman injured again at least for the early on in the season, he can help Clarke out in the ruck and get some cheap hit out stats like he did last year...

an expensive smokie, but a point of difference...

thoughts??

Catnip,

Jared Brennan would be a solid and unique pick for the forward line, he scored well last year, and as you mentioned he has been training with the midfield group, if he does play the majority of his time in the midfield then he will score even higher.

He is hard to match up on and has a big tank. He does have a habit of going missing for periods but if he is playing in the midfield then I feel he will become more consistent. Also has the bonus as being listed as a forward/midfield.

Cheers

He's so unique, if it comes off then you'll be laughing - but I wouldn't take that risk with him

Since when has Brennan been suspended? I think you'll find that is incorrect.

In the 18 Games brennan played he averaged 89 which is pretty good.
He is priced at $474,800 this year which is pretty reasonable and is a unique pick for your forward line.

You'd be laughing after tonight if you selected Brennan. 125 points from 31 touches and 1 goal.

Problem is Brennan's consistency otherwise he's a massive unique player.

Well he certainly looked pretty handy against WCE - 125 is a good start by anyone's standards

The interesting thing with Brennan is his ability to score big SC points in a variety of ways due to his playing style and role often being quite variable from one week to the next. Brennan only notched up 1 goal and 2 marks and managed to pull 125 SC points from 31 possessions and 7 tackles. Yet, he could well end up dragging in 10+ marks the following week and bagging 3-4 goals playing in a completely different role and score just as well. He can get the loose ball as well as the contested and hard-balls and despite his kicking being a bit iffy at times, he seems to pull it off when he simply decides to go long into the forward line. He has become a very hard-working and versatile player who can just about "do it all" in terms of SC scoring.

As a Lions supporter, Brennan is the player I wish I had the stones to select in SC!

yeah i took the gamble on him knowing that over months of checking out teams and researching players... the training fulling in the mid field and having games were he gets 16 tackles... i was on.

Also took the gamble on Redden as my 4th mid player..hopefully that comes good too

Jared Brennan had a great game Thursday night scoring 97 SC points.
He HAD 22 possessions with 8 marks importantly he had 8 tackles which gives you 32 SC points he is another player you all might want to consider although his price is $474,800. This will probably reach $500,000 after round 3.
