Mature aged rookie from Freo

Lot of buzz around him right at the start that's seemingly fallen away

Thoughts ne1?

If Alex Silvagni gets elevated he will be good to use on your bench as a 9th defender.
He will have to hope Grover gets put on the LTI list. As Barlow,Deboer & Van Berlo seem to be ahead of him.

I suppose the fact that Silvagni has largely played a role as a shut-down defender might have turned people off. Particularly if they were expecting him to be the next rebounding defender.

If he's elevated he'll be one of the few good, cheap options in the backline this year.

Davis isn't AFL ready yet, was shown during the NAB Cup. Stevens will slot into Otten's old role, and it looks like Petrenko has slotted himself nicely into our forward line, so I can't see him fitting in anywhere.

Silvagni is a key-defender though, so I can't imagine him scoring very highly

Who cares though Watto, if he gets 50-60 odd and plays every week he will be great cover and even make some cash.

Yeah agreed, but he certainly wouldn't be startable

I could have started him ahead of C.Newman this week....  Roll Eyes

I'm very pleased with Silvagni's return. Obviously it was a big win for Freo, but if Silvagni can continue to pull out 50-70 over the first 6-8 weeks, then it will mean that I can keep Maguire as D8 and trade Silvagni for a bit of cash instead.

Many like me decided to go for Nason on there bench not thinking Silvagni would get elevated what a mistake that was.

I’m in the same boat Johnny boy. If he produces another score that puts nason to shame, I will consider trading him in. Had silvagni all pre season, absolute bullshit this is.

I'm happy with my backilne (Newman, Gilbee, Gilbert, Malceski, Hunt, Ladson, Waters, McGuire) but want to squeeze Silvagni in to capitalise on his rise in value after this week. I'm considering trading Ladson or Hunt for Silvagni, but not sure which one?

Ladson and Hunt are going to rise as well mate.

As well as have a more secure spot in their respective teams and more chance of averaging higher.

Bite the bullet and concede that you just wont be getting silvagni....

I wiould also advise you to Hold on to Hunt & Ladson
Hunt's Value went up $31100 to $283,400.
Ladson's Value went up $30500 to $279,900
